We had great fun walking around the school field four times. We walked a mile!
We located the continents using a map of the world.
We have enjoyed our maths lessons this week.

We made a stand for a beach ball. We could only use paper and tape. The structure had to be at least 50cm tall.
We had to help the fish and chip seller to separate his salt and pepper.
We had to design and make a floatation device for an action figure.

We were set a challenge to design and make a summer shoe. We were allowed to use newspaper, card, tape and teamwork!
We have enjoyed working on STEM challenges.
We have been in Year 2 for 100 days. We know because we have counted the teaching days and recorded the data on our place value chart. We celebrated day 100 by investigating the number 100.
We made our own Kente cloth designs. Kente means basket. The cloth is hand woven from the Ashanti Kingdom in Ghana. We wove our paper versions.
We used Talk for Writing to learn an African story.
We learned how to use the new maths equipment to help us do calculations and to solve problems.
We listened to an African story about a lady called Mama Panya. We followed her recipe to make our own pancakes.
We had fun learning facts about Africa.
The choir including lots of Year 2 children enjoyed singing Christmas carols in Timperley village .

We love 'Maths of the Day'. We solved problems with addition and subtraction. The game was called Number Chase so we were very active whilst doing our maths.

We have started working on our new theme. We were set a challenge to build a castle. One group even included a dragon. Can you spot the dragon?
