Religious Education

At Willows Primary School, we aim to develop curious, thoughtful and respectful learners who are interested in exploring different religions, beliefs and world views. Our RE curriculum gives children opportunities to ask questions, reflect on different beliefs and practices, and develop an understanding of how faith and belief can influence people’s lives.

In this section, you can find out more about how RE is taught and learnt across our school, including our curriculum and progression of knowledge and understanding. You will also find practical ideas, useful resources and links for parents and carers, helping you to explore different beliefs, traditions and cultures together at home.

We use the Kapow scheme for RE which incorporates the Trafford Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education in accordance with Trafford's ‘Standing Advisory Council of Religious Education’ (SACRE). The knowledge, learning and skills that we teach our pupils is based around a key question approach which relate to: What people believe and do (Believing), how beliefs and values can affect people's lives (Living) and how people embrace their identity and diversity (Expressing). Our aim is to ignite a curiosity to learn about religion that will help children understand about faiths, beliefs and how religion has influenced the development of mankind and the society in which we live.
